First of all I got three bids. Ezekiel was very thorough and explained in detail what he would be doing and how he would do it. He gave us options and suggestions. He was not the lowest bid but he gave me the confidence that he would do a good job. The other bidders were not as informative. He and his worker were very polite and affable during the work. They worked diligently and cleaned up each after each day of work. The final product was beautiful. Turned out great. I am so glad I chose Alva Flooring.

We hired Alva Flooring Inc. to refinish our existing hardwood floors. The project included sanding the kitchen floor, a high-traffic area that showed significant wear. In addition, a portion of the flooring around our fireplace needed to be cut back to install a border with an inlay—detailed work with very little margin for error. Ezekiel from Alva Flooring and his helper began the job just a few days after providing the estimate. He also addressed several other blemishes he identified in different rooms. The work was completed in just a couple of days, and the results were outstanding. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work and appreciated Ezekiel’s professional and friendly approach throughout the project.

Our floors were in such poor shape due to our two dogs galloping to the front door evey time someone rang the beel of a package was delivered. My wife and I thoight we would have to replace them. I accidentally found Alva Flooring by researching 5 Star tradesmen. Ezequiel, the owner along with his wife, came by and convicnced us that he could bring the floors back from the horrendous condition they were in. The flooring material is birch which is very soft to begin with but he worked his magic on them. They look better than new and the color stain he helped us selct worked in credibly well. He and his team were professional and friendly. We sort of missed them when the job was over. Nevertheless, my wife and I highly recommend Alva Flooring. They did an awesome job and saved us thousand of dollars to refinish versus replace. Alva rocks!

Eze did an amazing job with our floors! He married new wood into our existing floors in 3 areas and refinished everything - kitchen, dining area, living area, pantry and hallway. Previously our floors had substantial “cupping”, but he sanded thoroughly and now they are smooth and gorgeous. A neutral coat and a flat stain were just what we wanted to make the existing inlaid detail “pop”! Finally, he and his team were *very* tidy while they worked, which I really appreciate! I highly recommend him.

I can't say enough about Alva Flooring. Eziquiel was a pleasure to work with - always prompt, very courteous and kept us in the loop. He did exceptional work patching a few dings and scratches and refinishing our living and dining areas. Clean up was very thorough. The results are beautiful and, while they have been refinished in the past, the floors look the best they have since perhaps they were laid down 98 years ago.

I worked with Ezequiel to redo the basement after it was flooded. He installed about 725sqft of engineered hardwood and baseboards. We actually talked for about 8 months as I found out I had to do a lot more work with floor leveling, asbestos management. Throughout the process, we stayed in contact and Ezequiel was always very responsive and most importantly, he was honest about his opinions. At times if he felt like the job was above his skill level, he would recommend another person or suggest alternatives. He challenged my views in a professional and respectful manner. When it came to doing the job, he was extremely communicative and the work was clean and well executed. He's a great guy to work with and I'm staying in touch for any future floor issues.

I wanted to do something unusual-install a brand new hardwood floor and paint it white (which everyone told me I was crazy to do). We are extremely happy with service and results of the repairs and refinishing. It came out so well we may not put the rug back. The job ran right on schedule even though they left early one day to accommodate the counter measure. They also met a request to come a couple days early to do some unplanned repair work. Highly recommended!
